Based in Hyattsville, Maryland, we are known for our innovative design, high-quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail. We are currently seeking a skilled Textile Seamstress to join our dynamic and growing team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Textile Seamstress with a strong background in sewing, knitting, and textile finishing. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in upholstery or similar fields and will play a vital role in creating custom linens, pillowcases, and fabric-based décor for high-end events and installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, sew, and assemble custom linens, pillowcases, and fabric pieces to specification Repair or modify existing textile items as needed Handle various materials including cotton, velvet, satin, and specialty fabrics Collaborate with designers to ensure quality and aesthetic consistency Measure and mark fabrics accurately based on design templates Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines Perform basic knitting and hand-stitching when necessary Maintain a clean and organized workspace Ensure all finished products meet quality control standards Must be able to stand up long periods of time Ability to climb ladders Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in upholstery, tailoring, or textile fabrication Advanced sewing skills, both by hand and machine Experience working with a variety of fabrics and materials Ability to read and follow design patterns or technical drawings Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team

Preferred Skills:

Experience with pattern making and textile design Basic knowledge of knitting and embroidery Previous work in event or interior design settings a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.16 - $20.36 per hour
