POSITION SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant supports the management of the day-to-day operations of the parish, informed by the parish’s mission, vision, beliefs, and values and in the light of the parish’s Strategic Plan, as determined by the Rector and Vestry. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Rector. This position is part-time (19 hours per week) with in-person attendance required on Mondays or Tuesdays and, provided weekly tasks are accomplished, a second day of the employee’s choice. The remaining hours may be fulfilled remotely. It is anticipated that the position will semi-flexible: it may include evening or weekend remote responses to inquiries or accomplishment of urgent tasks (no more than 3 hours in one week, to be factored into the following week’s hours).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Core tasks

Provide administrative support to the Rector and other clergy, Vestry, Treasurer, Ministry Leaders, and Ministries. Collect and prepare information and announcements to the parish in coordination with those tasked with printed and electronic communications. The Sunday bulletin and the website are foremost in this area.
Help to coordinate the cleaning, maintenance, repair, and use of parish facilities and grounds. As outlined and with oversight by the Treasurer and outside accountants, help to support the day-today financial operations.
Facilitate the smooth operation of parish information technology which includes telephones, network, internet and online applications, and photocopier. Manage membership records.
Manage the operational logistics of supplies and vendors for the office and for ministries (example: food for Sunday Coffee Hour).

Skills

Experience in church or non-profit office management or support
College degree or equivalent/corresponding experience
Volunteer use/management in mission fulfillment
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Excel)
Proficiency in Bill.com, QuickBooks and PayChex desirable.
ACS database experience a plus

Background check to be completed if offered a position. “Safe Church, Safe Communities,” online learning certificate, to be completed during work hours within 3 months of hire.

Pay: From $25,000.00 per year
