Duties

Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process customer transactions quickly and efficiently
Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, assisting with product information, and maintaining a positive attitude
Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and ensure the store is clean, organized, and inviting
Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels
Assist in inventory management through stocking and merchandising efforts to optimize product availability
Support team members by supervising or mentoring new staff when needed
Engage customers with friendly communication skills, including bilingual support if applicable

Experience

Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required
Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to connect effectively with diverse customers
Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences
Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus but not mandatory
Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for sales transactions and inventory counts
Knowledge of merchandising standards and stock management practices in a retail setting
