Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and customer service, bringing energy and enthusiasm to our café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean workspace, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Your role will be pivotal in creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages with precision and care.
Operate Toast POS systems for order processing and payment transactions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including food preparation areas and equipment.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed.
Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and sales transactions.
Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
Familiarity with food preparation and food service practices is an asset.
Experience using POS systems, especially Toast, is advantageous.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
