Truck Delivery Driver- Upper Marlboro, MD

Summary

The Truck Delivery Driver is responsible for the transportation of products and materials to and from construction sites, warehouses and office buildings over a dynamic coverage area while representing National Pipe Hanger Corporation in a positive manner.

The ideal non-CDL Driver will have experience driving non-CDL commercial vehicles 24’ to 26’ in length. They will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and delivering products in a timely manner.

Job Duties

· Maintain a current valid driver’s license.

· Maintain a clean personal driving record.

· Maintain a current DOT Medical Card.

· Check vehicle daily to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.

· Perform pre-trip inspection and properly fill out DOT log book and fuel record daily.

· Manage and organize outbound paperwork.

· Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe manner, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during dawn or daytime.

· Properly secure all loads with the use of straps.

· Perform routine fueling and servicing.

· Must obey highway traffic regulations while delivering/picking-up products and materials in a timely manner.

· Must abide by all construction site rules.

· Wear appropriate safety gear and clothing including: steel toe work boots, safety helmet, proper safety gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, pants, t-shirts and/or hoodless sweatshirts and NPHC safety vest. Loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited.

· Company issued phone must always be charged, on during business hours and used for work-related activities only.

· Must have and maintain a hands free device to use phone while driving (truck navigator includes Bluetooth for hands free driving).

· Comply with all federal and state DOT regulations and with all company safety and personnel policies and procedures.

· Make every effort to please customers when making deliveries.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Work Hours

This is a full-time position requiring the driver to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, plus overtime. The employee must arrive between 4:45 a.m. – 5:30 a.m. unless prior arrangements have been made to accommodate for special deliveries. The driver will work eight (8) hours a day, plus overtime if necessary. These hours may change due to delivery schedules or weather conditions.

Work Location

The reporting location for work will be at the company’s distribution warehouse located in Upper Marlboro, MD. In addition, the driver will be required to travel to constructions sites, warehouses and office buildings. Typically, these locations will be in Maryland.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
