A popular chef-driven Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C. seeks a passionate Assistant General Manager to join its leadership team. Responsibilities

Be a strong, visible presence on the floor during service—touching every table, driving the guest experience
Manage and coach a front-of-house team of 12+, ensuring performance, professionalism, and alignment with brand values
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to deliver seamless service and maintain consistency across FOH/BOH
Lead daily pre-shifts, enforce service standards, and foster a culture of accountability and team excellence
Support all aspects of daily operations, including scheduling, training, event execution, and guest recovery
Use wine knowledge and upselling strategies to help increase check averages and guest engagement

Qualifications

4+ years of FOH management experience in high-touch, upscale or fine dining environments
Proven ability to manage high-volume service with 100+ covers per night and $5M+ annually
Experience in restaurants focused on Italian cuisine or chef-driven menus strongly preferred
Passionate about hospitality, team development, and creating exceptional guest experiences
Adaptable, detail-oriented, and driven to grow into a more senior leadership role
Strong wine, bar/beverage service knowledge preferred
