Potomac Pet Re-Treat has been proudly caring for pets and supporting busy families since 2007. We’re known for our friendly, reliable service and our genuine love for animals. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a dependable Dog Walker / Office Assistant to join our team.

This is a unique position for someone who enjoys a mix of outdoor, hands-on work with animals and behind-the-scenes office support.

About the Role

You’ll spend part of your week walking dogs and caring for pets, and part of your time helping with office work such as scheduling, client communication, and updating records.

We’re looking for someone who:

Is a self-starter who can work independently

Enjoys problem-solving and can handle unexpected situations with calm and creativity
Loves animals and takes pride in providing excellent care

What You’ll Do

Pet Care Duties:

Walk dogs and provide in-home pet visits (feeding, playtime, medication, etc.)
Ensure the safety, comfort, and happiness of every pet in your care
Communicate updates and notes through our scheduling system

Office Support Duties:

Assist with scheduling and client correspondence
Help maintain and organize client and pet records
Update contracts, vaccination files, and internal forms
Support daily business operations with accuracy and attention to detail

What We’re Looking For

Previous office or administrative experience preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
Confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Schedule & Pay

Part-time position with flexible hours (weekdays, occasional weekends)
Pay based on experience and type of work (hourly + per visit/walk)
