The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking a full-time Driver.

Drivers are responsible for delivering books, library materials, interoffice mail, supplies, and equipment to 19 library locations in Prince George's County and other facilities in Maryland. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be capable of safely operating a box truck, cargo van, or other vehicle for up to 8 hours daily.

Essential Functions:

Drive library vehicles to deliver books, supplies and materials.
Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
Ensure security of vehicle including contents & keys.
Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance.
Sort and distribute mail and materials post-delivery.
Maintain accurate daily records and follow all safety protocols.
Collect deposits as needed.
Assist with special projects and train new staff, as needed.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, from 8AM - 4:30PM.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of delivery or truck driving experience.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regs & local routes.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Basic tech skills (email, Office, Google).
Friendly attitude and team spirit.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
Operate vehicles up to 8 hours/day.
Able to drive safely in all kinds of weather and traffic.
