Top rated Metropolitan catering company seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual to work as a Junior Sales Associate. The position works both in the office and on event sites to streamline the sales process and help successfully execute events. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent clients, vendors and staff to ensure a high level of service.

This job would be a great way to learn the catering and hospitality industry from the ground up in a small, welcoming company.

Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service in responding to phone or email inquiries.
Assist Senior Sales Executives with creating and revising event proposals.
Submit and monitor vendor orders for required materials and supplies.
Ensure all contracts are approved and confirmed by the client prior to the event.
Assemble event packets including layouts, details, and other supporting documents.
Verify billing information and assist with preparing invoices to submit to Accounting.
Coordinate regularly with the Senior Sales Executives regarding any client communication.
Attend client meetings, site visits, and events as needed.
Other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Demonstrated interest in food and event sales.
Excellent customer service skills and polished phone manners.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable transportation to the office and events is required.

Qualifications:

Previous administrative and/or event experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior hospitality experience in the following areas: catering, hotels, restaurants, country club or other related experience in the hospitality industry is not required, but a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
