Position Overview: Tennis Central is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Full-Time Project Assistant and Starting Pro to join our team in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) area. This unique hybrid role combines hands-on tennis coaching with strategic project management responsibilities, providing a dynamic opportunity to grow both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will have a strong tennis background, experience in coaching, and an aptitude for project management within sports programs.

Responsibilities:

1. Coaching Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group tennis lessons for players of all ages and skill levels.
Develop and implement customized training plans to support player goals and improve performance.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to enhance technique, strategy, and game understanding.
Coordinate and manage practice sessions, drills, and match play, creating a positive learning environment.
Communicate consistently with players and parents about player progress, goals, and any schedule updates.

2. Project Management Responsibilities

Organize and manage tennis-related projects, including local and international tournaments, camps, and training trips.
Support player college placement efforts, assisting with recruitment preparation and providing mentorship.
Oversee administrative tasks for club management, ensuring facilities are well-maintained and resources are available.
Collaborate with other coaches and staff to plan and execute programs, tournaments, and events across the DMV area.
Track and document player progress, performance metrics, and attendance for reporting and program improvement.
Stay current with industry trends to incorporate innovative strategies and methodologies into programs and coaching.

Qualifications:

Coaching and Tennis Experience: Strong playing background with competitive tennis experience; coaching experience preferred.
Project Management Skills: Proven experience managing or coordinating sports or event-related projects.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to engage players, parents, colleagues, and program partners effectively.
Organizational Skills: Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as program demands require.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools is a plus.
Commitment to Professional Development: Willingness to grow within the role through continued education in coaching and management practices.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and move on-court for extended periods.
Capable of demonstrating tennis strokes and techniques.
Stamina for physically demanding activities and ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.
