Post: Driver/Administration Assistant at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, USA

About the Position: The Driver is responsible for providing a safe, efficient and effective service to the Embassy staff and others when required.

He should ensure that the vehicles are always in good running condition, clean and maintained.

The driver should also provide efficient messenger and administrative support.

Key Roles:

Driving:

Regularly check the driving schedules and liaise with the Executive Assistant or Administration Manager regarding the daily driving requirements
Provide punctual driving services
Being familiar with all the routes within the Washington D.C. area and the states in the vicinity
Ensure availability by keeping cellphone on hand during duty hours
Undertake messenger and delivery services as required
Maintain the vehicles to a high standard by ensuring safety and cleanliness of the vehicles
Maintains records of maintenance checks of the vehicles and their usage
Records mileage and fuel purchase and reporting requirements as per policy and procedure
Ensure that all vehicles have adequate fuel at all times
Assist in repairs, purchase or sale of official vehicle
Assist in registration and deregistration of official or personal vehicles
Obtain receipts for all fuel, toll and parking costs and account for all expenditure

Administration:

Regularly checks office stationery and equipment
Prepares the conference room for official functions
Assist in periodic checks or inventories and the asset register
Assists with the supervision of contractors within the Embassy and other properties as required
Undertake other administrative tasks as required
Ability to work outside normal working hours on occasion
Contribute to the continuous development by sharing information and data with the relevant staff
Be familiar with all the security procedures and adhere to these at all times
Undertake additional duties and after-hour duties as required

Qualifications:

The Applicant must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Must have significant professional driving experience such as driving senior officials or dignitaries
Good knowledge and experience of general car maintenance
Possess driver’s license
Courteous towards the Embassy staff, diplomats and the Ambassador
Able to work independently even without supervision
Able to response effectively to multiple tasks and demands
Possess attention to details and thoroughness in completing tasks
Able to work in a team
Demonstrate high commitment to work and continuous improvement
Able to solve issues and problems using creative solutions
Possess working knowledge of Microsoft applications and computer literacy
