Title: Part-time Therapist/Group Facilitator

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: 2 years’ experience with a substance abuse population and 12-step model. Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed LMFT in the District of Columbia. Therapist must have a minimum 1 year of sobriety if in recovery.

Reports to: Clinical Director

Basic Functions: A front line interaction with clients; to assist clients in recovery from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders through counseling, education, role modeling, peer-to-peer community work, using experiential and evidence-based modalities to help bring about change and growth.

Demonstrates good role modeling, and proper code of ethics and protocol of documentation. Facilitates scheduled individual sessions and therapeutic groups. Creates and executes individualized treatment plans for individual clients on a case-by-case basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

● Provides individual psychotherapy to clients.

● Diagnoses and assesses for substance issues/mental/emotional disorders.

● Responsible for therapeutic care of clients from admission through discharge

● Leads group psychotherapy sessions; Generates topics based on needs of clients, using evidence-based practices and treatment team clinical recommendations.

● Weekly participation in clinical meetings, assists in treatment planning and goal setting.

● Crisis intervention and management – as needed.

● Maintains and supports all programming for clients.

● Provides Family Counseling and communication with families to provide supportive and continuous care for clients.

● Completes client calendar weekly while updating Kipu as needed.

● Utilizing Kipu and the Golden Thread, chart all sessions (individual, group, family) in a timely manner.

● Keeps in regular contact with the referent as appropriate in a timely and consistent way.
