Wander + Whimsy is a boutique floral design studio based in Lanham, MD but services the DMV, known for creating organic, artistic, and customized floral and event designs for weddings and corporate events. We’re growing — and looking for enthusiastic, reliable Floral Event Assistants to join our Events Department!

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with most opportunities available on weekends and evenings. You’ll play a key role in bringing our events to life by supporting on-site setup, floral installations, and event breakdown (strike). You can sign up for events based on your availability — a flexible way to earn extra income doing something creative and rewarding.

What You’ll Do:

Assist with event setup, including floral installations and decor placement. (No previous event experience required - great opportunity to start in the event and floral design industry)
Load/unload supplies and event rentals
Provide friendly, professional support to clients and vendors onsite
Maintain cleanliness during setup (sweeping, trash removal, etc.)
Return at the end of the event for breakdown/strike
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely, high-quality event execution

Requirements:

Availability on weekends and evenings
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
