We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to become a permanent member of our established Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Group with multiple locations in Northern Virginia. Our ideal candidate is able to operate in a team-based environment with a shared goal of providing safe and equitable care to all patients. This position requires assisting our providers during examinations, following proper protocols and having the ability to administer in-house diagnostic testing procedures. Proficient in Pulmonary Function Testing and Greenway/Intergy EMR is a plus!

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical administrative support, including managing patient records and ability to navigate EMR to review schedules, charts, tasks.
- Knowledge of and demonstrating appropriate techniques for obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications and conducting proper intake assessments.
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient information accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure high-quality service, adhering to HIPAA
- Provide anticipatory guidance as to visit flow for patients upon triage
- Competency and knowledge of lung and sleep disease practice, procedures, and medications.
- Obtain spirometry and FENO testing on patients demonstrating appropriate techniques and patient coaching
- Keep exam room well stocked and disinfected
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Proficient in medical administrative support and patient care
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems and vital sign monitoring
- Basic life support certification
- Displays strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive teamwork approach.
- Detail oriented with excellent computer skills
