The Warehouse Assistant will assist the Warehouse Manager in the daily functions of the Warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare trucks, all equipment, and materials for the next day from the Needs Analysis.
- Ensure that all trucks and vans are cleaned and ready daily.
- Perform a lot of checks to ensure all vehicles are locked at the day's end.
- Work with dispatch to ensure all paperwork or keys are pulled and returned to the office.
- Convey materials and items from trucks /vans or containers to storage or to other designated areas.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to maintain inventory records.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or request materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to other workers or departments.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Prepare weighs / dimensions or counts items for distribution with shipping and receiving in and out of the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Use a computer to enter records with direction from management.
- Compile worksheets or tickets as required by management.
- Continue to keep the warehouse clean and ensure things are put away correctly and safely.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
