Position Overview:
Our practice is seeking a highly organized, professional, personable Medical Assistant/Patient Experience Coordinator to join our high-end cosmetic dermatology practice. This role combines clinical support with administrative responsibilities, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Some procedures performed in our practice are surgical in nature, requiring strict adherence to clean and aseptic techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
· Prepare treatment rooms for patient visit by ensuring cleanliness, stocking supplies, and setting up necessary medical equipment
· Assist dermatologist during patient consultations, medical, surgical and cosmetic procedures, and follow-ups ensuring patient comfort and safety
· Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and documenting medical histories
· Draw patient’s blood for procedures
· Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipment in compliance with practice protocols
· Assist with surgical and cosmetic procedures, including prepping patients, handling specimens and coordinating processing, if applicable
· Administer post-procedure care instructions and address patient questions or concerns, escalating to the dermatologist as needed
· Scribe clinical encounter information in the electronic medical record system accurately and efficiently using an iPad and/or desktop computer
· Call patients and communicate laboratory and biopsy results
· Complete medical prior authorizations
· Communicate with pharmacies, laboratories, vendors and other medical offices when necessary
Patient Experience Duties
· Welcome patients warmly up arrival, creating a comfortable, professional environment
· Check-in patients, verify personal and financial information, and obtain necessary consent forms
· Answer phones promptly and professionally, addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing rescheduling/cancellations
· Coordinate appointments for medical and cosmetic services, ensuring optimal scheduling for the dermatologist and patients
· Process payments for services, procedures and products, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
· Discuss and explain treatment plans, pricing and follow up appointments
· Maintain inventory of medical supplies and cosmetic products, and assist with product sales
· Coordinate referrals with other medical offices when necessary
General Duties
· Provide exceptional patient service, reflecting the values of the practice
· Maintain a clean, organized and professional work environment
· Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
· Assist with administrative projects such as inventory management and patient communications
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Minimum 1 year experience as a medical assistant, preferably in dermatology or plastic surgery
· Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
· Experience with front desk or administrative tasks is a plus
· Ability to perform phlebotomy

· Proficient in electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
