Who are we? What makes us special?
We are a nut-free and kosher bakery in Washington, DC, founded by a lawyer-turned-baker. We make cakepops, bagels, challah, and other delicious treats -- all from scratch. We also have gluten-free and vegan options!
Our team is made up of a diverse group of individuals of all different ages, races, ethnicities, identities, and backgrounds. We have a small bakery across from the National Zoo in DC. We also participate in farmers' markets in the DC metro area, and we ship nationwide. We are small but mighty.
What makes us special is that we care. A lot. We care about our staff, we care about our customers, we care about our community. Yes, we sell cakepops and other baked goods. We also provide gainful employment to 20+ employees. We partner with charities and nonprofits to support our community. And we bring happiness to thousands of people through our delicious nut-free and other allergy-friendly treats.

What's the job?
We are seeking a Sales Associate to work in our bakery across from the National Zoo in Woodley Park. Our Sales Associates have multiple responsibilities -- from ensuring customers have an amazing experience while they're in our store to packaging online orders for shipment. They prepare catering orders for delivery and, like all team members, help with cleaning and organizing the store on a regular basis.
We're looking for someone who is:
- friendly;

- positive attitude (both with customers and coworkers);
- focused;
- mature;
- a fast learner;
- takes feedback well;
- available to work year-round (this is not a seasonal position);
- available on weekdays and weekends;
- able to lift at least 50 lbs;
- able to stand for the entire shift;
- comfortable in a work environment that can be very fast-paced at times; and
- comfortable with frequent task changes (over the course of one shift, you will be asked to wait on customers, make sandwiches, put together online/shipping orders, and perform opening or closing tasks).
Base pay for a sales associate is $16.10/hour plus tips, with a minimum of $17.50/hour. (Tips vary, but typically range from $2-$8/hour.)

We're easy to reach by Metrorail, Metrobus, Capital Bikeshare, or car. There is free parking outside the store on weekends, and additional free parking every day within a 10-minute walk of the store.
