Job Overview
We are seeking a joyful, flexible, and reliable floral sales assistant to join our team. This role requires a love of smiles, strong customer service skills, a desire to learn about flowers, and a willingness and ability to drive a vintage pick-up truck (we will train you).

This is a part-time, contract position. Hours are scheduled mostly on weekends and some weekdays during holidays. This is a good job for people who want to supplement other part-time or full-time work.

Pop-up locations span the DMV (downtown DC, Montgomery County, Frederick County, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax).

Duties

Operate and drive the flower truck to events. Truck pick-up is located in Rockville, MD
Set up and take down flower truck or flower bar for events.
Help customers choose flowers for their bouquets.
Use POS technology to make sales transactions
Provide advice on flower and plant care.
Inspect flowers on truck to ensure freshness
Condition and prep flowers prior to events.
Clean work space (to include flower buckets)

Working Conditions

Willingness to work in a home-based studio as needed
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours outside in hot and cold temperatures

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Previous driving experience with a clean driving record required.
Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and retail math is a plus.
Knowledge of floral design can be beneficial.
Ability to communicate effectively in English; we encourage multilingual candidates to apply.
Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
