Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and recidivism. Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $73 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.
We are presently seeking an Intake Case Manager to join our organization at our Porter location.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with every new Client to introduce program structure, guidelines, and expectations
- Orient Client to new surroundings, provide initial bedding and toiletries
- Complete detailed interview and paper intake with the Client
- Enter all intake information into two databases (CARES & TDF Database)
- Construct an initial Independent Living Plan (ILP) with every new Client
- Assist with House Management duties whenever possible, including digital bed management, urine collection for toxicology, building rounds, etc.
The Ideal Candidate:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience with criminal justice or homeless population, or ability and desire to learn and adjust quickly to the population
- Excellent Client contact skills, including a dedication to treating all Clients with dignity and respect
- Computer Proficiency (must master two databases, and position relies heavily on email contact)
- Must be an independent worker, and able to navigate varying situations without onsite Supervisory support
