Community Support Services, Inc. is seeking in person Instructional Associates for individuals (students) in a school setting, to support in person learning and social and emotional engagement. Support and services are provided at Marcia D. Smith School located in Gaithersburg, MD.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing the Individual Behavior Plan as designed by the psychologist.
- Supporting the individual in activities including daily living skills, recreation services, instructional programming and other activities.
- Weekly Case Management duties that include completing assessments, collecting data on targeted goals and objectives for the individual and compiling monthly reviews of the program for the individual.
- Follow all CDC and agency guidelines related to Covid19, including the use of PPE while working directly with individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. BA or AA degree is preferred or college coursework in Human Services, (Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Counseling, Nursing).
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to use computer and office software products
- Good verbal and written communication skills (recording data, reporting incidents, communicating to other team members and supervisors regarding activities and outcomes)
REQUIRED TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion and demonstration of techniques taught in the MANDT, CPR & First Aid training's, other training's as required by CSS which are provided in orientation.
- Successfully complete annual re-certification of the MANDT.
- Recommended to have a valid driver’s license and a driving record free of any moving violations for the past two (2) years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee must be able to effectively use non-adverse physical intervention strategies with individuals with autism of varying heights, weights and levels of physical strength according to the guidelines presented in MANDT training.
***$23.06 is the rate after all training and compliance has been completed. The starting rate is $20.06 for this position until training is complete.
CSS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization which provides services and support to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities residing within Montgomery County, Maryland. CSS was founded in 1994 and began its mission by working collaboratively with individuals, families, and other lead agencies to design and implement new models of service. CSS provides residential services in 50 homes in upper Montgomery County, where two individuals reside in each home with one or two support staff providing care and supervision . Additionally, day support services including vocational training and education are provided in our main center, family homes, and in the local Montgomery County community.
