Scoops2U is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catering Assistant who will help oversee our kitchen team, production of baked goods, and homemade treats. You will also be asked to go serve at events as needed. You would be a great fit if you can demonstrate knowledge of safe food handling procedures, are organized and plan ahead, have clear communication skills, and can multitask.
A typical day in the life of a Scoops2U Catering Assistant will include the following…
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning production schedules for high volume orders
- Baking and preparing high volumes of baked goods, popcorn, and other treats
- Ensuring that all baked goods are visually appealing, fresh, and delicious
- Leading and organizing team members to assist with production
- Maintain and report an accurate inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Serve at catering events as needed
- Assist our operations team in preparing materials for catering events
You will also be asked to:
- Research seasonal recipes and products
- Train team members on kitchen safety
- Teach team members company recipes
- Clean, sanitize and maintain kitchen equipment

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in food handling
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working with a catering company preferred
- The ability to stand for long periods of time
- The ability to lift 50+ pounds
Work Schedule & Environment:
- This role is a fully on-site position at our facility in Springfield, VA
- The standard schedule for this role is 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
- Occasional weekend hours may be needed depending on order volume
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, speak, listen, talk and hear
- Light to moderate lifting may be required
