Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
Highly regarded pediatric practice is looking for a compassionate medical assistant with phlebotomy experience. Our three pediatricians and seasoned trained staff have been providing high quality medical care to children in the Washington, DC / Maryland area for more than 50 years. Because we are a small practice, we’re able to provide personal care for our patients. The ideal candidate should be reliable, punctual, friendly, organized, have excellent people skills, be able to multi-task and work independently. You must also understand and enjoy working with children and parents.
Job Description
Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering vaccines, assisting with office procedures, vision/hearing, phlebotomy (capillary and venous), processing lab specimens for testing, maintaining patient and specimen information logs, ordering, sorting and storing supplies, cleaning and restocking exam rooms, taking phone messages, faxing/photocopying and related tasks.
Hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with one to two Saturday mornings per month from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A half-day off is provided on the weeks when you work Saturday morning.
Requirements:
- Medical assistant experience (5+ years preferred)
- Pediatric venipuncture (2+ years preferred)
- Vaccine administration
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Socially perceptive and service oriented
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification
