Royce Geo, a GRVTY company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join our security team within a private sector defense classified contracting environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) compliance, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Security Executive Agent Directive 3/4 (SEAD 3/4), and security clearance processes through systems such as the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS). Reporting directly to the Facility Security Officer (FSO), the AFSO will support all aspects of security compliance and operations to ensure adherence to federal regulations and maintain a secure facility.
This position is hybrid from Arlington, VA. It will require 3 days a week in office.
Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with all DCSA security requirements, including 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, SEAD 3, and related policies and directives.

Manage personnel security processes, including initial clearance submissions, investigations, and periodic reinvestigations through DISS and NBIS.

Review and create DD254s, as required.

Understand FCL requirements and update the FCL documentation, when necessary.

Conduct self-inspections and internal audits to ensure continued compliance with security standards and policies.

Assist in preparing for and participating in DCSA security audits, reviews, and inspections.

Oversee the secure handling, transmission, and storage of classified information in compliance with contract and government requirements.

Develop and deliver security awareness training programs tailored to organizational needs.

Maintain security records, reports, and documentation in compliance with federal mandates.

Work as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official in conjunction with organizational policies and lead the Insider Threat Working Group.

Act as a liaison with government representatives, internal departments, and external clients on security-related matters.

Stay updated on changes to security regulations and implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
-
At least 5 years of combined experience as a Security Specialist/Administrator and AFSO Demonstrated understanding of DCSA compliance, NISP, SEAD 3, and all aspects of national security clearance processes.

Associate’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.

Must obtain Facility Security Officer certification within 30 days of hire.

Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) SPeD.

Working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, NISS and other security clearance management systems.

Strong understanding of foreign travel processes and related reporting requirements.

Comprehensive knowledge of government security directives, protocols, and practices.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with staff, government representatives, and stakeholders.

Must have an active Top-Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible.
