Bartender
Compensation: Salary Range $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Position Summary
Our Bartenders are responsible for expertly mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests at the bar. This role involves creating a welcoming atmosphere, engaging with guests to understand their preferences, and providing recommendations based on the menu. Bartenders must ensure that all beverages are prepared to the highest standards and served promptly. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, managing inventory, and adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks for bar and restaurant.
- Serves wine, draft or bottled beer and food to bar guests according to hotel standards.
- Collect payments for drinks served following hotel established accounting procedures.
- Respond to guests' needs.
- Guide guests in selecting food and beverage items.
- Merchandises cocktail hours and special events.
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests.
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for handling an intoxicated guest.
- Prepares drinks and verifies correct pricing.
- Assist servers in bar knowledge.
- Cleans, sanitizes, restocks, and stores bar items according to procedures.
- Secure all money at the end of each shift.
- Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Serves bar menu food by according to hotel standards.
- Responsible for proper storage of alcohol.
- Responsible for cleaning bar service and guest areas.
- Report maintenance issues to immediate supervisor.
- Requisitions alcohol and bar food according to hotel standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
Education and Experience
- Prior bartending experience required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment which includes typical spring and summer conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Good knowledge of liquor and preparation methods.
