Southern Maryland Medical Group is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Medical Assistant/Scribe to join their healthcare team. We offer great benefits and competitive pay.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements: Certification from a Medical Assistant Program required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and understanding HIPAA Guidelines. Must be able to work independently and in a team setting with other staff.

Essential Medical Assistant Functions:

Patient Triage
Scribes are assigned to work with one physician.
Document the dictated patient history, HPI, review of systems, past medical and surgical histories, family and social histories, medications, allergies, examination, referrals, procedures ordered and plan.
Obtains weight, height, vitals signs prior to going into the room.
Enters the patient’s vitals into the computer, as well as the chief complaint, LMP, and any new medications.
Performs ECG’s on patients and inputs the proper information in the EMR system.
Requests all labs and hospital results and scan to patient chart.
Answers the telephone to answer patient questions and making appointments.
Uses good judgment in decision making and communicating with all patients and colleagues.
Communicates any patient, personnel, or electronic system problems with the appropriate supervising Manager in a timely fashion.

Experience:

Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
Scribe: 1 Year (Preferred)

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License:

CMA/CNA (Required)
