Job Title: Food Truck Driver / OperatorLocation: SmokeDatt BBQ Food Truck (Travel throughout DMV)
Job Description:
SmokeDatt BBQ is seeking a confident, responsible Food Truck Driver/Operator to deliver and serve our clients across the DMV! This role involves driving our food truck to events, setting up and operating the truck, and assisting in service. The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, strong time management skills, and can deliver excellent customer service while keeping the wheels turning. Please note: due to the nature of this work, this position will include hours outside of the traditional 9-5. Nights, weekends, and early mornings will be a part of the position. Flexibility and availability is necessary to qualify.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive and operate the SmokeDatt food truck to scheduled locations and events
- Set up and break down truck, equipment, and service areas
- Assist in food preparation and service during events
- Ensure truck cleanliness and organization, both inside and out
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies before events
- Follow all local traffic and health department regulations
- Communicate effectively with the team and customers
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Experience driving large vehicles (box truck, trailer, RV, or food truck) strongly preferred
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and work long shifts on your feet
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Familiarity with basic food safety practices (ServeSafe certification a plus)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and early mornings
- Must be comfortable navigating DC/MD/VA roads and parking situations
- Familiarity with Washington DC, Virginia, and Md’s food and health safety codes
- Must have reliable transportation
