POOL REPAIRS & RENOVATIONS MANAGER
High Sierra Pools is seeking a skilled and experienced professional for a full-time Pool Repairs & Renovations Manager position based at our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. This position supports the company’s pool renovation and pool repair operations through project oversight, team supervision, permitting, technical planning, and client-facing proposals. The role also includes collaboration with Operations and Business Development leaders to identify new opportunities, improve delivery, and support strategic growth. Experience with pool renovation sales or new product initiatives is a plus.
Qualified candidates will have a background in commercial swimming pool operations repairs, construction, or renovations, with strong technical knowledge of pool structures, systems, and design. Familiarity with CAD or similar drawing software and APSP certifications (CMS, CST) are preferred.
A college or university degree or technical certificate is preferred; alternatively, five years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, will be considered. A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)
- Direct and supervise daily operations of an assigned Pool Repairs Department unit, including a team of up to 5 technicians and multiple contractors. Responsibilities include scheduling, task assignment, progress tracking, quality control, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent pool repair and renovation projects, including mechanical system repairs, plumbing and leak detection, deck and coping replacement, and surface refinishing (e.g., replastering).
- Prepare accurate, competitive proposals and bids using company software (e.g., LMN, AutoCAD) and manage service repair requests through completion.
- Collaborate with Regional Managers to ensure projects meet company standards and client expectations.
- Supervise all work performed by independent contractors to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.
- Source and procure materials and equipment, ensuring adherence to budget and project schedules.
- Lead the preparation of capital expenditure proposals for major clients, including scope development and pricing strategies.
- Ensure all projects comply with High Sierra safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, environmental guidelines, and hazardous material handling protocols.
- Manage and participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call schedule to respond to emergencies and client needs.
- Maintain professional communication and high-level customer service with clients, staff, vendors, and community stakeholders.
- Ensure construction activities are conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and permitting requirements.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, professional development sessions, and internal and external sales meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience in pool repairs, renovation, construction, or related project management roles.
· Knowledge of commercial pool systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, automation, tile, coping, and plastering (e.g., Diamond Brite, PebbleTec).
· Experience managing permit workflows, especially in Northern Virginia; Maryland and D.C. preferred.
· Proficiency in project and job costing software (e.g. LMN, Service Titan, Procore, Jobber)
· Proficiency with technical drawing platforms (AutoCAD, or similar).
· APSP credentials (CMS, CST) or General Contractor License preferred.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills; capable of supervising teams and subcontractors in the field.
· A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and respond to emergency calls as needed.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
This position occasionally requires evening and weekend work to meet deadlines or operational needs. A six-day workweek may be necessary during the spring pool opening and early summer operations (typically for up to a three-month period). Occasional overnight travel may also be required.
