Are you a morning person who loves local food, farms, and community vibes? We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable folks to join us as Market Assistants for the 2025 season! This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety, being outdoors, and connecting with people—and who’s ready to hit the ground running from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on market days.

Market Days: Saturdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday afternoons/evenings
Season: May through October/November

Duties
As a Market Assistant, you’ll help bring the market to life each week by:
 Supporting our awesome vendors and keeping things running smoothly
 Greeting customers—answering questions, cashiering (including SNAP), and bagging purchases
 Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the shopping experience.
 Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items or promotions.
 Packing CSA (farm share) boxes for pickup
 Offering product samples and engaging with shoppers
 Capturing photos to showcase the magic of market days
 Setting up and breaking down our booth (tables, tents, displays, and produce)

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
Proficiency in basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions.
Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective customer interaction.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base.
Experience with product demos and upselling techniques is beneficial.
Knowledge of grocery store or farm operations is an advantage.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
