ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY
The Education Trust (EdTrust) seeks an Associate I, Facilities and Events to join our Operations Team in our Washington, DC office. The Associate will join a staff committed to fulfilling a mission of closing opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.
The Facilities and Events Associate supports office and events operations to ensure that our office space is organized, clean, stocked, and welcoming, and that internal and external events run smoothly and professionally. Under the supervision of the Operations and Events Manager, this role liaises with building management and directly works with EdTrust staff and leaders to produce events that help to advance our policy and advocacy goals. Ideal candidates will exercise good judgment in the execution of duties and have a customer-service and problem-solving orientation.

This part-time role, available immediately, is based in our Washington, DC office and will work 3 days (~22.5 hours) per week on-site in our DC office, Tuesday through Thursday. The Associate I, Facilities and Events reports to the Manager of Operations and Events.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Facilities
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of shared office spaces for staff, including the pantry area, supply area, conference rooms, and copier rooms
- Monitor office supply inventory and order supplies using our processes and protocols to ensure that our spaces are stocked appropriately and that staff have the materials and equipment they need
- Support the use of our conference room spaces by both EdTrust staff and external partners to ensure a positive user experience, including coordinating with staff and partners, setting up the rooms in alignment with user’s needs, managing attendance and smooth check-in processes, assisting with catering, and setting up directional signage
- Monitor and route voicemail and website inquiries to support timely staff responses
- Receive and send incoming and outgoing mail and FedEx shipments, including opening, sorting, distributing, creating labels, and shipping
- Support the Manager, Operations & Events in liaising with building management and building engineers as needed so that our office environment is clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming
Events
- Set up and coordinate webinars in our online platform to ensure a smooth user experience in collaboration with EdTrust staff and external partners
- Monitor and support live webinars, including prepping speakers, moving speakers on and off the virtual stage, sharing documents, and troubleshooting platform-related issues
- Support EdTrust events, virtual and in-person, with registration, attendance reporting, room set-up, and coordination with vendors such as A/V and catering

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- At least a high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Some relevant experience with event set up and management (1-2 years preferred)
- Comfort with basic Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., creating spreadsheets, formatting layout and entering data) and Microsoft Word (drafting, sharing and editing documents)
COMPENSATION
This position is non-exempt from overtime provisions and will be paid an hourly rate that aligns with our Level A new hire pay range of $30,402 - $38,005. All offers will be commensurate with skills, experience, and internal equity. This position is eligible for paid sick leave.
