Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Food Service Manager to join our team at DC's largest residential program. In this role, you will manage the in daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. You will play a crucial role in managing staff, optimizing food production processes, and fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency. MUST BE FLEXIBLE and be able to work with those who have substance use and mental health needs in a residential environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth functioning.
- Supervise and train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Support the planning and execution of special events in the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and conducting evaluations.
Skills
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
- Proven management experience in food service or restaurant settings.
- Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on team leadership.
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles and kitchen management practices.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Experience in shift management within the food industry or culinary environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while fostering a positive atmosphere.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
