Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Reception / ID Check to join our cannabis dispensary team. As the first point of contact for customers, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring compliance with state and local cannabis regulations. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to customer service and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Verify government-issued photo identification to ensure all customers meet legal age requirements.
- Accurately log and maintain visitor information in compliance with state cannabis regulations.
- Direct customers to appropriate areas of the dispensary.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information about dispensary services and policies.
- Assist with customer check-in procedures, including entering customer information into the point-of-sale or tracking systems.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Support dispensary staff with administrative tasks as needed.
- Monitor lobby activity to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding customer information and dispensary operations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old (per state cannabis regulations).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or administrative experience preferred.
- Prior customer service, receptionist, or retail experience strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify identification documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with cannabis laws and regulations (preferred, training provided).
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
