We are a busy integrative medicine clinic in Bethesda, Maryland, seeking a dependable, energetic Medical Assistant. This is a hands-on, active role where you’ll help keep the clinic running smoothly and support exceptional patient care. It’s an excellent fit for pre-health students (pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing) or early-career professionals seeking experience in a respected practice. Medical Assistant certification is not required.
You’ll spend much of your shift on your feet preparing treatment rooms, assisting with front desk and patient tasks, and keeping us organized.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare & sanitize patient treatment rooms between visits
- Stock & manage supplies; track simple inventory needs
- Greet & check in patients; assist with symptom screening
- Collect payments & verify insurance
- Support scheduling & EMR documentation (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office)
- Assist provider with workflow and basic clinical tasks
- Perform general administrative duties (scanning, filing, phone calls, email follow-up)
- Contribute to special projects and research initiatives as needed
- Maintain overall cleanliness & professionalism of the office
Schedule
- Shifts available Mon–Thu, 9:30am–8:30pm; Fri–Sat, 9:30am–6:30pm
- Minimum 20 hours/week
Required Qualifications
- Commitment: Able to commit for 12 consecutive months, working 20+ hours per week
- Physical: Comfortable being active on shift; lifting 30+ pounds, crouching, reaching, and working in both low and high spaces
- Safety: Comfortable wearing a KN95 mask for the duration of each shift
- Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation — our clinic is not easily accessible by public transit
- Communication & Tech: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient typing; basic office software (Google Workspace)
- Experience: 1+ year in healthcare or food & beverage service; other customer-facing roles also valued.
- Screening: Willing to complete background check, drug screen, and/or COVID testing if requested
