The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for preparing food items for service, including slicing, cutting, heating, plating, and re-filling. The Kitchen Assistant will work with other team members and supervisors to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Set up kitchen equipment, including tables, tablecloths, crescors, trash cans, and other event equipment
Assists with food preparation, including chopping/slicing vegetables, meat, and cheese, and re-heating food items to the appropriate temperature
Assist with food service tasks, including plating and serving dishes, and ensuring that all food is presented following company standards
Breakdown kitchen equipment, including tables, crescors, trash/recycling, and other event equipment, and ensuring everything is returned to its correct container/area
Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, cleanliness, and guest service
Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business
Previous experience as a kitchen assistant, or related field preferred
Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
Good knife skills are required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as tables, trays of food, and boxes of equipment
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
