The Interventional Radiology (IR) Hybrid Medical Assistant and Assistant Scrub Tech play vital roles in pre-operative and post-operative patient care within the holding area. Additionally, they support the lead Scrub Tech by providing first surgical assistance during interventional procedures (see procedure list below) when needed.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare access sites for procedures, including femoral, jugular, and radial access, as well as abdominal procedures and biopsies.
Operate angiography and ultrasound equipment, including positioning, troubleshooting, and entering patient demographics.
Imaging & Radiation Safety
Inventory & Equipment Management:
Medication & Pathology Coordination
Patient Care & Monitoring
Sedation Transfer & Post-Op Monitoring
