Akira Technologies is seeking Inventory Technicians (Levels I–III) for a 2–4 month contract assignment supporting government programs in managing and safeguarding IT hardware and software assets. The selected candidates will be responsible for receiving, staging, and warehousing standard and non-standard equipment while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and secure supply chain practices.
This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring property accountability, and supporting the secure distribution of assets for mission-critical operations.
The role is onsite in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and document standard and non-standard hardware and software in accordance with government and contract procedures.

Stage and warehouse equipment in secure facilities while adhering to physical and information security requirements.

Maintain accurate inventory data within approved asset management systems.

Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accountability.

Support the configuration and deployment of IT assets in coordination with technical and engineering teams.

Track and maintain chain-of-custody documentation for all government-furnished and contractor-owned property.

Follow NIST, ISO, and/or FedRAMP-aligned standards to maintain supply chain integrity.

Assist with lifecycle management, including equipment deployment, recovery, repair, and disposal.

Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and property management to ensure compliance with federal and agency policies.

Support audit readiness activities and respond to property control reviews as needed.
Required Qualifications
Inventory Technician I (Entry Level)

High school diploma or equivalent.

0–2 years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or warehouse operations.

Familiarity with asset tracking or warehouse management systems.

Ability to follow established procedures and security protocols.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Inventory Technician II (Intermediate Level)

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
-
2–4 years of relevant experience in inventory or supply chain management, preferably supporting government contracts.

Proficiency in asset management systems and data entry.

Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal property control standards.

Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
-
Active or interim Public Trust clearance required.
Inventory Technician III (Senior Level)

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

4+ years of progressive experience managing IT hardware/software inventory within a government contracting environment.

Advanced understanding of NIST SP 800-171, FedRAMP, and secure supply chain requirements.

Experience leading or mentoring junior staff.

Ability to generate reports, reconcile data, and support audit compliance.

Active Public Trust or higher (Secret or Top Secret preferred, depending on contract).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in classified or controlled facilities.

Familiarity with government asset tracking tools (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow, or similar).

Certification in logistics, property management, or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CLTD).
Work Environment

Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000
