Maintenance Technician – On-Call / Project-Based

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team on an on-call or project-based arrangement. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of maintenance skills and be ready to respond to various maintenance needs across our VA properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks including:
- Flooring: Installation and repair of laminate, vinyl, and tile flooring.
- Plumbing: Address minor leaks, faucet replacements, and drain issues.
- Electrical: Replace light fixtures, switches, and troubleshoot minor electrical problems.
- Carpentry: Repair doors, windows, and cabinetry.
- Painting: Touch-ups and full-room painting as needed.
- HVAC: Basic maintenance and filter replacements.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in general maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Availability for on-call assignments and flexible scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Experience with property management maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
