Job Title: Site Safety Coordinator

Job Description
The duties of the site safety coordinator begin with accident prevention through intervention and education.
The safety coordinator acts as the assigned Site guide in complying with an intricate collection of federal,
state and local government and company regulations.
The site safety coordinator enforces safety in the workplace and is supported by his or her management.
Inspections performed ensure that the appropriate safety regulations are followed in the workplace, whether
they are those of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Environmental Protection
Agency, Customer, Company, or an equipment manufacturer. The safety coordinator updates the sites
safety plan as needed, keeps the employees informed about changes, keeps OSHA-mandated safety posters
up to date and monitors compliance on the work area.
Responsibilities:
Performing new hire site specific safety orientation.
Enforcing of applicable safety policies and procedures.
Enforcing COVID-19 Guidelines and Controls
Stopping unsafe acts immediately if encountered in the workplace.
Communicating all unsafe or unhealthful conditions immediately to the manager,
supervision, and the safety administrator.
Keeping first aid equipment and supplies in stock. Making sure that all forklift operators
are trained and equipment is in functional order.
Controlling and reducing the possibility of fire at site location.
Ensuring that the hazards of all chemicals produced or imported into the workplace are
recorded, and that information concerning the chemical hazards is transmitted to
employees.
Ensuring that all guarding is in place and in working condition when equipment or tools
are used.
Ensuring that the PPE required to be in use at this company is appropriate, used,
maintained and in stock.
Identifying and controlling spray finishing hazards in order to protect the health and
safety of employees working in, and around these operations.
Ensuring that welding, cutting and brazing operations are performed in a safe manner
protecting both the employee's health and the work location from risk of fire or
property damage. Acting as a "fire watch" for locations requiring one.
Identifying and controlling hazards associated with walking and working surfaces.
Ensuring that employees receive the required training and are trained to operate cranes
and hoists in their areas.
Following the safety procedures and protocols in the requirements of required fall
protection.
Checking and ensuring that lockout tag out procedures are available and being followed
onsite. Also responsible for ensuring that lockout tag out equipment is available.
Checking that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available for hazardous chemicals onsite and
that SDS sheets are readily made available to employees.
Training employees on how to use a respirator, and scheduling fit testing appointments
with a medical provider.
Performing weekly safety inspections to identify, correct and prevent unsafe conditions
Investigating incidents, injuries and near misses if necessary and verify that all reports
are complete and submitted to the Safety Administrator.
Preventing clutter and keeping work areas clean and organized
Assisting visitors when visiting our jobsites stay incompliance with company safety rules
and policies.
Anticipating and planning for emergency scenarios before they occur. Also to manage
emergencies to ensure the risk of
injury to personnel, the environment or damage to property is kept to a minimum.
Increasing risk awareness and perception of health and safety in the workplace through
communication with employees.
Disciplining employees for failure to follow safety policies and procedures or when an
employee has performed an unsafe act. Written documentation required.
Job Specifications:
Must obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certification.
Must have a high school diploma or higher education
Computer literacy required, in addition to traits of being a self-starter, well organized and attention to
details.
Site Safety Coordinator will be responsible to train or arrange through HR the following:
Forklift Operations, Crane Operations, Fall Protection principles, Respiratory regulations.
