Community Support Services, Inc. (CSS) is a non-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, MD. CSS is committed to providing inclusive and innovative community-based services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their pursuit of individually chosen life goals to live, work, learn, interact with others, and recreate in their community.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Facility and Operations Coordinator. This position will support CSS Operations and Facilities teams to ensure that CSS properties and equipment are organized, well-maintained, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
This full-time, in-person position is based in our Gaithersburg office and will be a key part of our facilities and operations team. CSS owns and operates 70 residential homes, two commercial buildings, and a fleet of 125 vehicles in Montgomery County, MD.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Property Management: Manage utility accounts, act as HOA/property management contact, coordinate moves, maintain residence documentation (parking, directions, mail, waste), and manage keys with precise logs.

Household Operations: Collaborate with Assistant Director of Community Living to facilitate client-specific household purchases, including ordering, delivery, setup, and installation. Oversee house cleaning schedules and invoice approval.

Licensing & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate initial home setup to meet resident/staff needs and licensing requirements.
Office and Programmatic Operations: Ensure clean, organized, and well-maintained office spaces and equipment, including commercial kitchens. Maintain inventory of activity supplies.
Administrative Support: Provide support to operations and facilities, including fleet management. Maintain files and databases, prepare reports, and edit documents for projects.
High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
Excellent computer proficiency, including proficiency with spreadsheets such as MS Excel or Google Sheets.
Basic understanding of database maintenance is preferred.
Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize appropriately, and can work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all stakeholders.
Experience with purchasing furniture and equipment, coordinating deliveries, and household or office management is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Must pass background screening as a pre-hire requirement.
CSS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization which provides services and support to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities residing within Montgomery County, Maryland. CSS was founded in 1994 and began its mission by working collaboratively with individuals, families, and other lead agencies to design and implement new models of service. CSS provides residential services in 70 homes in upper Montgomery County, where two individuals reside in each home with one or two support staff providing care and supervision . Additionally, day support services including vocational training and education are provided in our main center, family homes, and in the local Montgomery County community.
