We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and service-oriented Chiropractic Assistant to join the team at our thriving clinic. Applicants This is an in-person role that combines both administrative and hands-on patient care responsibilities. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails, and welcoming patients as they arrive. In addition, you’ll be hands-on in supporting patients through their treatments, which may include tasks such as taking vitals, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, assisting with stretches, and setting patients up on therapy equipment like traction or muscle stimulation.
Chiropractic Assistant Training (Required)
All team members hired for this role are required to complete the Chiropractic Assistant (CA) certification process as part of their employment. This is a state-mandated licensure process that typically takes approximately one year to complete in Maryland. The training is fully paid for by the clinic, and you’ll be working and earning during the process. It’s structured to be manageable alongside your day-to-day responsibilities. While prior certification is not required, candidates who already hold a valid Chiropractic Assistant license in Maryland will be strongly prioritized. Administrative Duties
- Greet and check in patients: Welcome patients warmly, confirm appointments, and verify insurance information
- Manage scheduling: Book, reschedule, and confirm appointments while keeping the clinic calendar organized
- Maintain patient records: Accurately update personal and medical information, ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Handle billing and insurance: Process payments, verify insurance coverage, submit claims, and follow up on outstanding balances
- Support daily clinic operations: Answer phone calls and emails, manage inventory and supplies, and help maintain clean, organized treatment rooms and waiting areas
Clinical Duties (Training provided)
- Assist during appointments: Support the chiropractor before and during treatments, ensuring smooth patient flow
- Prepare patients for care: Guide patients through what to expect, help them get situated, and assist with therapeutic activities
- Take vitals: Record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height
- Administer therapeutic modalities: With proper training, assist with therapies like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and guided exercises
- Educate and encourage patients: Provide instruction on stretches, home exercises, and wellness habits as directed by the chiropractor
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- Clear communication: Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, teammates, and providers, both in person and over the phone
- Strong organizational habits: Ability to keep track of appointments, manage patient records, and stay on top of daily clinic operations
- Basic computer skills: Comfortable using standard office software and learning medical systems (like electronic health records)
- Patient-first mindset: Compassionate, respectful, and attentive to the needs and comfort of every patient
- Attention to detail: Especially important when entering patient data, managing schedules, or handling billing
Multitasking ability: Able to juggle multiple responsibilities in a busy environment while staying calm and efficient
Bonus Skills & Experience (Preferred, Not Required)
- Bilingual (Spanish-English): Strongly preferred to support our diverse patient community
- Chiropractic Assistant certification (Maryland CA license): Not required, but a definite plus if already obtained (training is provided for those without it)
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting: Especially in chiropractic, physical therapy, or rehabilitation clinics
- Billing and insurance knowledge: Experience with payment collection, insurance verification, or claims processing is helpful
