Summary:
The Events Assistant supports event activities including set up and breakdown, promotion, administrative tracking, check in, etc. The ideal candidate for this position must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, outgoing, and display efficient use of their time and scheduling, exercising strong multitasking abilities.
Essential Functions:
Supporting event management operations.
Set up/tear down of event venues.
Checking in guests/front of house manager.
Staffing Events in the McKinley Building.
Staffing Virtual Events (mainly via zoom).
Tracking attendance through Eventbrite.
Assisting Event Planning Manager with planning and organization of SOC Events.
Building events on various online channels.
Creating Run of Shows and Invoices for Events.
Assisting with email outreach and digital calendar listings.
Writing content for the School of Communication website, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts related to SOC Events.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
Up to 10 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while paying close attention to detail.
Customer service focus.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Event planning and/or customer service experience.
Eventbrite, Canva, Adobe Suite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Ability to write concise and professional emails.
Photography and Illustrator design skills a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills.
