The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections, & Enforcementis currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Property Standards Inspector I/II (Property Standards Inspector 1A)grade A15/17 positionin the Multi-Family Housing Division.
About the Position
This is an entry-level leading to full performance technical inspection and code enforcement work. The incumbent is responsible for the enforcement of County Codes pertaining to residential, commercial, and/or industrial properties throughout the County. The incumbent is assigned to enforce the Zoning Ordinance, Property Maintenance Code, or Housing Code depending upon operational needs, as determined by management. Responsibilities include the issuance of rental licenses, sign permits, and Use & Occupancy Permits (U&O). Field work is performed under close supervision by a higher level inspector, and independent field judgments are not made except in the most routine cases.
About The Agency The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) is responsible for coordinating and enforcing standards that control what goes on before, during, and after construction. Staff from nine agencies, who work cooperatively on permit processing, business licensing, plan review, inspection and enforcement comprise Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. The Mission of the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement is to promote economic development in Prince George's County and protect the safety of County residents, businesses, and visitors through efficient permitting, inspection and licensing services to ensure compliance with established building, zoning and property standards codes.
