Position Summary:
The Breakfast Server, Kitchen Assistant, Bartender operates under the guidelines of the owner and agreed upon policies and procedures to always ensure a positive guest experience.
The Breakfast Server, Kitchen Assistant, Bartender must be highly service-oriented, have excellent customer relationship skills, exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and be “a team player”.
The Breakfast Server, Kitchen Assistant, Bartender must be self-motivated and proactive, able to create positive experiences for overnight guests and visitors to the property. He/she is flexible, able to adapt to a changing schedule. Honesty and integrity are essential. Professional appearance is required at all times when guests are on the property.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide exemplary customer service to all guests.
- Assist in preparing the dining room and serving trays for breakfast service.
- Assist in preparation of cold food for breakfast service.
- Take breakfast orders from guests accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Accurately communicate orders to the Chef and prepare drinks and condiments.
- Ensure guests are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Clear tables and assist in washing and storing dishes and cleaning and sanitizing dining room and replenishing coffee and tea supplies.
- Answer phones as necessary during shift and assisting callers.
- Assist in preparation, serving and clean-up for special events including dinners, afternoon teas, weddings, open houses and other events held on property.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and customer preferences at in-house bar on weekends and during events. Opportunity to work at larger events.
- Check identification to verify the age of customers before serving alcohol.
- Other duties may arise from time to time and may be assigned to the employees.
- ServSave and T.I.P.S. training will be required if not already certified.
- This role is part-time and requires both weekend and weekday availability.
- This role can grow into assisting the Innkeeping staff for the right candidate with the willingness, aptitude and appropriate skillset.
Compensation Package includes the following:
Pay
Starting salary is based on level of experience and skill set and can increase with experience and additional responsibilities.
Tips received directly from guests. Tips received indirectly will be shared and distributed among the appropriate hourly staff.
Breaks provided commensurate with shift length.
Personal Time Off
Sick leave time accrues per applicable state requirements.
Apparel
Professional appearance is required. Shirts and apron will be provided.
