Ophthalmology practice seeks a full-time ophthalmology technician / assistant who will work directly with our physicians and patients as our patients navigate through all phases of their medical and/or vision exams in our busy office. In this position, you will provide superior patient care to include taking the patient's medical history, acquiring all necessary information prior to the patient's exam with their doctor, performing specific ophthalmology tests such as visual acuity, OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, intraocular pressure, corneal topography, and dry eye testing. Other duties include ordering and stocking of medical supplies, cleaning / sanitizing all ophthalmic equipment and patient exam/testing rooms, contact lens ordering, maintaining rapport with pharmaceutical representatives, assisting the front office staff when needed and all other duties as assigned.

You must be willing to take directions from our providers and TEAM of ophthalmic technicians. We work as a TEAM, dedicated to serving our patients and doctors, while practicing positive, effective, fearless, adult communication with each other.
We are looking for a TEAM member who has excellent computer skills and keyboarding skills as well as a working knowledge of medical practice management software and electronic health records software applications. The ideal TEAM member will also have a clear understanding of HIPAA and patient-privacy regulations, exceptional customer service in a medical environment, superior telephone skills, strong attention to detail, medical terminology/spelling, proper use of grammar (written and spoken) and problem-solving skills.
SPANISH SPEAKING IS A PLUS, and will be useful in this role, however, it is not a requirement.
We prefer a MINIMUM of one year of experience in a medical office environment, specifically in ophthalmology/optometry. We are willing to train someone with a great attitude, an aptitude for learning quickly and being able to apply what they learn to the job they are performing.
