Full-time. M-F (Core Hours 6:30 am-2:30 pm), Up to 40 hours a week. Non-Exempt.
Must be available to work occasional evenings until 7 pm and weekends

Job Summary
This position is responsible for driving the “Manny” bus for nutrition classes/special events when scheduled. This role also includes serving as a backup driver for food distributions, when necessary, and providing support to the Logistics Team with daily warehousing tasks.
Key Responsibilities

- Follow and coordinate driving schedule assigned by the Senior Manager of Logistics.
- Serve primarily as the “Manny” bus driver.
- Act as backup truck driver when no classes or special events are scheduled.
- Support the Logistics Team with daily warehousing tasks as assigned.
Summary of essential job functions

- Safely drive the "Manny” bus to and from nutrition classes, programs and special events.
- Serve as backup truck driver for food distribution and school pantry drop-offs, ensuring efficient delivery and distribution.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspection of bus or truck, including routine checks, and report any maintenance issues to the Senior Manager of Logistics.
- Assist the Community Food Education Coordinator by preparing the “Manny” bus before any class or event as needed.
- Support Community Food Education Coordinator throughout any event as necessary.
- Clean the “Manny” bus after use, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping tables, and disposing of trash.
- Perform daily maintenance of the truck, such as refueling and cleaning.
- Empty the wastewater tank after every use and clean the water tank regularly.
- Refill gas, propane, and water tanks as needed to ensure they remain full at all times.
- Support the Logistics Team with daily warehousing tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during events and distributions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations while driving and handling food products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements
-
- Class B commercial license with air brake certification.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to treat all participants with dignity and respectfully manage difficult and/or challenging situations.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment such as the restaurant or food service industry, social service, or retail sales.
- Strong ability to multitask and effectively manage diverse, concurrent responsibilities.
- Excellent logistical and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass and maintain the Maryland (MD) Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT card).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
- Eligible to be insured under Manna’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.

Specific vision requirements for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
