Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist healthcare providers in a fast-paced environment. This role offers opportunities to work across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics within a Level I or Level II trauma center setting. The Medical Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, emergency medicine, and surgical settings
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing and prepare them for analysis
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and under supervision as required
- Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality
- Support medical administrative tasks such as ICD coding, appointment scheduling, and insurance documentation
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and other imaging modalities when trained
- Monitor patient responses during treatments and provide basic life support if necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, PICU, OR, or trauma units
Experience
- Prior experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or medical-surgical units preferred
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or internal medicine enhances suitability for this role
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medication administration, and vital signs collection required
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions essential
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures or PICU settings is advantageous
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or specific specialties are a plus
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred; CPR certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred (new graduates considered).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
- Other: Must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
