Job Purpose
The Facilities Custodial Associate position is responsible for housekeeping, floor and general cleaning services, maintaining and cleaning the facility to ensure a safe, sanitary, and functional environment.
This position works one-on-one with the Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring strong communication between all departments regarding cleaning needs. Key duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, offices, conference room, bathrooms, breakroom, loading docks, removing trash, maintaining inventory supply and restocking as needed. This position includes lifting and moving heavy items as well as exposure to cleaning equipment.
The Facilities Custodial Associate will be responsible for maintaining different types of floors including, but not limited to, carpets, tiles, and cement. Responsibilities include checking if floors are clean and in good condition, using the correct cleaning methods, completing preventive maintenance, and following health and safety standards. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with safety standards, using specific cleaning solutions to minimize risks, and staying current with safety regulations and best practices in floor maintenance. This Facilities Custodial Associate must adhere to the highest safety standards to protect users and the facility.
The Facilities Custodial Associate must possess the ability to read and interpret SDS to safely handle, dilute, and store cleaning-chemical agents. The correct candidate should be able to identify, label, and safely handle hazardous materials as well as utilize the proper and required PPE.
The Facilities Custodial Associate will:
- Ensure that all tasks are performed efficiently, correctly, and in accordance with all current SOPs.
- Be responsible for maintaining full compliance throughout the facility and keeping up to date with all cleaning maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with Operations Manager as needed to perform inventory tasks and to keep facilities and equipment in proper working order.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Housekeeping and general cleaning services for the inside and outside of the facility and within the perimeter of the building.
- Removal of trash from foyer, offices, conference rooms, bathrooms, breakroom, production areas, and loading dock.
- Cleaning floors, sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing floors, halls and stairs, foyer, offices, conference room, bathrooms, breakroom, production area, and loading dock.
- Heavy lifting including moving furniture to sweep, vacuum, and/or mop.
- Routine equipment maintenance such as replacing mop heads, replacing floor machine pads, and other like duties.
- Cleaning walls and windows daily.
- Routine maintenance of inventory levels and restocking supplies, reporting supply counts to Operations Manager.
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and breakroom multiple times throughout the day.
Other essential functions included, but are not limited to the following:
- Seed-to-sale software training requirements.
- Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Maryland Cannabis Administration training materials.
- Maryland Occupational Safety & Health Training materials.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required; higher level of education preferred.
- Two to four years of warehouse cleaning experience.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb and stand on ladders or raised mobile platforms.
- Ability to work on site eight to 10 hours Monday through Friday.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to follow directions.
- Accurate attention to detail and decisive reasoning skills.
- Must be able to qualify as a registered agent with the Maryland State Cannabis Administration and may not have any violent or drug related felony convictions.
- Problem solving skills.
- Must be 21 years of age and older.
- Must be able to work 38+ hours per week.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions and tasks with a high degree of consistency and accuracy.
- Schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional possible weekend work.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, horticultural chemicals, pollen, allergens, fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water.
- Wearing a mask, gloves, uniforms, protective/non-slip shoes, and hand washing, etc.
- Stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Bend, squat, stoop, twist, and bend the neck and waist and reach above and below shoulder height to grasp objects.
- Bend and lift loads of up to 100 lbs.
- Using hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
