The Maryland Club (MC) was founded on February 26, 1857, in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1891, the MC built its current clubhouse in Mount Vernon on the corners of N. Charles and Eager Streets (1 East Eager). The Maryland Club is a well-established social club with a diverse and inclusive membership. Within the Clubhouse is a blend of tradition and modern attributes in our dining areas, event spaces and a state-of-the-art athletics center. The world-class racquet sports facility includes three double squash courts and three single courts to qualify us as a highly competitive arena. Position Overview
The private club is seeking a detail oriented catering manager to help provide service related to catering events. Responsibilities include assisting the operations team and members with private event orders for catering services, ensuring their satisfaction from start to finish, and other office related duties.
The Catering Manager primary duties include:
- Respond to member calls and special requests and obtain final details, dates, times, and meeting room requirements.
- Regularly follow-up with members and maintain accurate BEO updated information in Jonas.
- Resolve requests and/or complaints to the satisfaction of the members; inform Operations of the major problems, complaints, disturbances or dissatisfied members.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Coordinate event details with F&B Managers, Houseman and Kitchen team such as VIP events, special requests, or other service needs or special handling.
- Assist with coordinating outside vendor service needs (floral displays, audio/visual, etc.) Regularly follow-up to ensure set-up requirements meet Member event needs.
- Help detail private event BEO function sheets with equipment needs and rental orders.
- Creates BEO packets for each private event including staff sheets, equipment pulls, beverage pulls, signage, expo sheets, etc. as needed and assures that captains are in receipt of packet.
- Organizes printed menus as required for each event.
- Assembles and performs upkeep of organized private event files including all correspondence, orders, invoices, payments, proposals, function sheets, etc.
- Processes certificate of insurance requests.
- Support or inquiries including all pertinent event information client contact, date, time, format, number of guests, room location, etc.
- Helps prepare proposals for private events and submits staff requisitions.
- Assists with client walkthroughs of venue spaces and provides on-site representation at events as needed.
- Assist with event registration and check-in at beginning of Club events
- Event photography in any case marketing team unavailable.
- Receives and processes all deposits with the accounting department.
- Reviews financial entry and billing to assure accurately forecasted and communicates with accounting on any needs, clarification, etc.
- Prepares final private event invoicing reports on a weekly basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Demands, Hazards and Working Conditions
· Physical effort required. Employee may be required to service catering events and help banquet team with functions.

Required Experience and Training
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
· Some light clerical experience preferred
- Must have experience with Jonas Club Software, Banquet and Catering
Compensation
Up to $50,000 annum.
