We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full-Time Medical Assistant/ Front desk receptionist to join our primary care team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and updating records
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including dermatology, internal medicine, and urgent care cases
- Support physicians with medication administration, wound care, and basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray preparation or specimen collection
- Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy of patient information and ICD coding for diagnoses
- Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support clinical decision-making and patient education
- Conduct patient education on medication use, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care instructions
- Support hospital medicine or inpatient units when needed, including assisting with admissions or discharges in hospital or Level I/II trauma centers
- Manage medical supplies inventory and ensure clinical areas are well-stocked and sanitized according to safety standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics or hospital settings to optimize patient outcomes
- Assist with radiology procedures such as X-ray imaging when required for diagnostic purposes
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, alleviating concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the visit
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments; clinic experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and ICD coding processes
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology principles
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray technician or emergency medicine training are advantageous.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration support, specimen collection, and assisting with diagnostic imaging
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient service and teamwork
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments including outpatient clinics, urgent care.
