The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages in accordance with approved recipes and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized bar, following responsible alcohol service and safety standards, and supporting a high-quality guest experience through attentive, professional, and hospitality-driven service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Deliver warm, attentive, and professional service to guests at the bar in alignment with Elegancia’s hospitality and service standards.
- Support a positive and respectful team environment by working collaboratively with bartenders, barbacks, servers, leads, management and other employees across the company.
- Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues through established escalation channels when appropriate.
- Contribute to a seamless, team-based service model, including assisting with running drinks, clearing glassware, and supporting service flow as needed.
- Represent the brand consistently through professional conduct, communication, and presentation.
Bar Operations & Beverage Execution
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with approved recipes, builds, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain working knowledge of cocktail builds, modifiers, seasonal offerings, and menu items to support accurate execution and informed guest guidance.
- Set up, maintain, and break down the bar for service, ensuring tools, products, and mise en place are stocked, labeled, and organized in accordance with standards.
- Perform assigned opening, running, and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, polishing glassware, and organizing bar supplies.
- Monitor product quality and inventory levels and communicate shortages, 86’d items, or quality concerns through established escalation channels in a timely manner.
Compliance, Safety & Systems
- Accurately enter beverage orders and payments into the company’s point-of-sale system in accordance with established procedures.
- Handle cash and electronic payments in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
- Verify guest eligibility for alcohol service in accordance with applicable laws and company standards.
- Follow all company policies related to responsible alcohol service, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
- Report safety, equipment, maintenance, or facility concerns through established reporting and escalation channels.
- Use company systems and tools as assigned to support daily operations and service execution.
Additional Duties, Training & Business Support
- Assist with special events, activations, pop-ups, and brand initiatives as assigned.
- Support other front-of-house functions when business needs require.
- Participate in menu and beverage program feedback sessions when requested.
- Participate in required training sessions, tastings, and operational briefings.
- Maintain familiarity with current menus, recipes, procedures, and service updates.
- Complete assigned learning, certifications, and compliance training within required timelines.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional bartending experience in a hospitality or beverage-focused environment.
- Food Handler and responsible alcohol service certifications preferred, with willingness to obtain required certifications within a designated timeframe.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Must meet all local and state requirements for the lawful service of alcohol.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
