Entry-Level Engineering Operations Technician

Position Summary:
We are hiring motivated, entry-level individuals to begin their hands-on technical career as Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) through our Elevate Program, a paid training and development pathway. Through Elevate, candidates who may not yet have direct data center or technical experience will receive structured training followed by on-the-job learning in a data center environment.
As a member of the Engineering and Facilities team, you will support the operation and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, follow detailed safety and operating procedures, and help maintain world-class facility reliability. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with curiosity for technology, a strong work ethic, and interest in electrical, mechanical, or facilities systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English (CEFR C1).
- Lifting and moving up to 39 pounds independently on a normal basis. 40+ pounds for group lifts.
- Working and performing construction tasks from ladders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Completed apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician/Electrician or equivalent recognized training.
- 1+ years of job-related experience in a fast-paced environment (restaurant, hospital/ER, classroom/schools, military, etc.)
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
- Familiarity with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
- Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
Responsibilities:
In-person Classroom Training:
- Selected candidates will begin with a 4‑week instructor‑led training program through a local community college. In this course, you will learn Data center fundamentals, Electrical and mechanical systems basics, Safety standards and procedures, Preparing for hands-on EOT responsibilities.
Safety:
- Uphold and promote the highest safety standards, fostering a world-class safety culture.
- Collaborate with other teams to address safety risks/issues and take ownership of safety initiatives and projects.
Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance:
- Demonstrate operational expertise in electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS’s, Switchgear, Circuit
- Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs and work varying shifts (morning, late, and night).
- Conduct routine rounds/log-taking for operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Respond to off-duty emergency calls on an on-call rotation basis.
- Lift/move objects/materials within regulatory weight limits and work in outdoor weather conditions occasionally.
- Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull objects into position.
Shift Details:
- Shifts are 12.5 hours long (5:30 AM/PM – 6:30 AM/PM)
- Days are 3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off. For example, you could work Sunday – Tuesday, be off Wednesday – Saturday, and then work Sunday – Wednesday, be off Thursday – Saturday.
- Both day and night shifts are available.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
